Because vacation feels better when you’re actually prepared.
I recently got back from a sunny Mexico getaway and wanted to share the Amazon travel essentials I used and loved. These finds made packing easier, kept me organized, and helped me enjoy the trip stress-free.
- Suitcase Set (my new favourite)
- Packing Cubes
- SunScreen
- Water Bottle
- First Aid
- Beach Bags
- Sandles/Slides
- Bathing Suits
- Cover-Ups
- Amazon Travel Essensials
1. The suitcase of my dreams
This suitcase handled airports, bumpy roads, and me overpacking. It glides like a dream, fits perfectly in overhead bins, and even held up through sand and sun.
Bonus: Comes in cute colors and looks expensive without the price tag.
2. packing cubes
I used to just throw everything into one bag because I didn’t care about being organized — but these changed everything. Now I keep my clean and dirty clothes separate, everything stays wrinkle-free, and unpacking is so much easier. Honestly, a Type A dream. I’m obsessed.
3. Sunscreen
I used to avoid sunscreen because I wanted to get as dark as possible — but turns out, you can still tan with sunscreen on. Now I never skip it. It helps protect your skin from sun damage, wrinkles, and the scary stuff like skin cancer. This one’s reef-safe, non-greasy, and doesn’t mess with your glow.
- Vegan + Reef Friendly
- UVA/UVB
- (Octinoxate & Oxybenzone Free)
4. Collapsible Water Bottle
A lot of resorts give you glass water bottles that are annoying to carry around and impossible to reseal. That’s why I love these — they collapse down small, fit right in your luggage, and don’t take up half your suitcase. So easy and worth it.
5. 116 Piece Mini First Aid Kit (used 3 times on my last trip)
I used to think I’d never need a first aid kit... until I walked straight into a random cement block on my last trip (don’t ask how, I don’t know either lol). Whether it’s a scraped knee, blister, or some random travel mishap, this kit has everything. It’s small, TSA-friendly, and honestly just smart to have — even for the most minor things.
I didn’t realize how necessary a beach bag was until this trip. It’s not just cute — it’s practical. I used mine to pack a change of clothes, water bottles, tanning oil, sunscreen, snacks, towels… all the things you don’t want to carry in your hands while walking through sand. Definitely a must for any beach day.
7. Sandles and Slides
I brought three pairs of sandals on my trip, and each one had its own reasoning
Braided Flip-Flops – Wore these to the beach. Not the comfiest for long walks, but super cute and easy to slide on.
White Slide Sandals – Perfect for breakfast or dinner when I wanted to look a little more put together.
Black Comfort Slides – Lifesavers for theme parks and full walking days. Comfy, quick-dry, and great for in and out of water.
8. Bathing suits
Bringing three bikinis was honestly perfect — each one had its own purpose:
Cream Bikini – This one was my go-to for swimming. It felt more supportive and stayed in place when I was actually moving around in the water.
Black & White Bikini – Smaller and more minimal, so it was perfect for tanning without harsh lines.
Cutout One-Piece – This was my water park pick. It looked cute but kept everything secure for slides and wave pools.
9. Cover-Ups
Having a few cover-up options was honestly a lifesaver. Some days I wanted something light and cute for walking to breakfast, other days I needed more coverage for lounging by the pool or walking through the resort. Between a button-down, a crochet top, and a skirt — I felt cute and comfortable every time.
10. Amazon Travel Essentials
These might not be the cutest things I packed, but they definitely came in handy:
Emergen-C Crystals – Something about traveling always throws my stomach off, so having these on hand made a huge difference. Definitely bringing them on every trip from now on.
Portable Charger – Between taking photos, checking directions, and scrolling by the pool... a dead phone is just not it. This is a must.
Wrinkle Release Spray – Even with the rolling method, my clothes still get a little wrinkly. And sure, most hotels have irons — but let’s be real, this $3 spray is way easier.
This post featured travel must-haves I actually used on my Mexico trip — from comfy sandals and beach-ready outfits to the under-$10 lifesavers that made all the difference. Perfect for anyone planning their next sunny getaway.
